About Me

My photo
David & I have 5 beautiful children; Ashlee, Britanee, Colby, Austyn & Linzi. We have a wonderful son-in-law, Brian; a lovely new daughter-in-law, Kelsey; and three beautiful grand-daughters! I work full-time as Stacks Manager at the Harold B. Lee Library (HBLL) on the campus of Brigham Young University. I was previously an Elementary Media Specialist (librarian) and I loved it! I love EVERYTHING cinnamon, READING, and always sing along with the radio (sometimes too loudly :)

This week...

In The Wild, by David Elliott ... one of our Beehive Book Award nominees in poetry, is our book of choice this week.  Can YOU guess what animal each poem is describing?

Don't forget - ballots are available on the circulation counter when you are ready to vote for your favorite books!  We will be tallying up votes in the next couple of weeks to submit to CLAU (Children's Literature Association of Utah)

This Week in the Library...

Everyone has a "Cousin Ed" in their lives... someone who tells outrageous stories, and you aren't sure what to believe and what NOT to believe!  This is a super fun story about the stories Cousin Ed tells, and how the tables get turned on Cousin Ed. =)

Also this week, we will begin voting for our favorite Beehive Book Award nominees!  We've been reading them all year, and now we need to count the votes and send them in!  Ballots are available at the Circulation desk.  If you would like a reminder about the books that have been nominated, please visit www.clau.org for more information.

Final Reading Minutes

The Final number submitted to Scholastic and the Utah Jazz:

202,571 Total minutes read

454.2 minutes per student here at Riverview!

We actually read more than that, but that's the amount we had turned in by Tuesday morning!  Pretty impressive considering we are a brand new school!  We have a few prizes to give away, and we will be doing that during announcements Monday, February 27th. We have our two autographed books, two autographed photographs of Gordon Hayward and Paul Millsap, and TWO TICKETS to a JAZZ game!  I SO wish I could win!  =) We will post those lucky winners after they are announced on Monday.

Thank you for your dedication to reading, and keep reading every day!
